Thai loom weaving is not a widespread craft. The family workshops that maintain it — passing technique between generations — are concentrated in specific provinces, and their numbers are declining. When we began working with a Chiang Rai family of weavers, we were not looking for a supplier. We were looking at a tradition that deserved a commercial context that could sustain it.

What Makes It Different from Other Rattan or Wicker Furniture

Most rattan furniture in the hospitality market is machine-produced or assembled from factory-woven panels. The loom work on our recliner is structural, not decorative — the weave pattern determines the seat flex, the lumbar support geometry, and the armrest tension.

This required a design conversation between Korean ergonomic geometry and Chiang Rai ancestral technique. The weaving family understood load distribution from generations of practical knowledge. We brought measurement: target lumbar offset, seat depth, recline resistance.

The result is a chair that feels different from anything you can buy in a Bangkok showroom.

Available Finishes and Custom Loom Patterns

Standard finishes: natural, smoked, ebonised. All available from stock atelier production.

For orders of four or more pieces, custom loom pattern design is available on request. This means a hotel or villa project can commission a pattern that ties to their brand language — a specific weave geometry, a signature colour thread woven through the natural material.

Ordering for a Project

The Loom Recliner is our highest-demand piece. Lead time for standard finish: 8–10 weeks. Custom pattern: add 2–3 weeks for pattern development and sample approval.
